I would like to refer you to a commentary that LoFi Tom has written on this, by one William Grim. I must congratulate Tom on being able to finish reading the piece. It\'s more than I could do, as it\'s general tone is so abhorrent as to be unbelievable. Mr. Grim performs the usual sneering attacks on people he barely knows anything about that we\'ve come to expect from this sort of gutter journalism (gutter blog?) (people are ridiculed for looking ugly, for example), and then comprehensively dances on the grave of the recently-deceased \"Dimebag\" Darrell, shortly after claiming that he doesn\'t wish to do so.
This last act I can only describe in the words of Clough Williams-Ellis(creator of Portmeirion), who wrote, \"It\'s an ill bird that fouls its own nest, but only a truly perverted one would delight in the act.\"
The ultimate irony, however, is revealed in the very last paragraph. William E. Grim (if that\'s his real name) is a writer who lives in Germany.
That\'s right.
This 100% Conservative-with-a-big-C socialist-hating \"journalist\" lives in a country which, although its health and welfare system is currently ailing, has a remarkable record of Socialist-driven reform. Doubtless Mr. Grim is one of the right-wing dogs baying for it to be dismantled, whilst simultaneously enjoying its benefits. It must REALLY piss him off having to get up every day and work with German collegues who enjoy good healthcare and were University-educated largely at the State\'s expense (with tax-breaks, to boot!). It must be constantly infuriating for him to walk through clean cities with outstanding public transport that people don\'t actually fear to use for being attacked, and where gun crime is nearly non-existent. As for all those people preferring to use bicycles to travel on special bike-only paths, they must piss him off righteously.
Can you guess the word I\'m thinking of? It begins with H.
