So, I'm at a comedy show, watching Johnny do his act, with Casey and Mikey. As part of the intro, the host (who sits to one side and pulls silly faces on a close-up camera whilst the act does three minutes) has taken out a small paper flag and waved it. During Johnny's act, the host starts burning the flag with his cigar.
This seems to upset Casey somewhat, because Casey's from Kansas.
Suddenly I'm having to do a Bill Hicks, and tell him not to rise to provocation.
Mikey points out that America isn't exactly popular at the moment. Mikey is from Boston.
Casey asks me what about when the Union Jack is burned. I tell him I couldn't care less. It's just a flag. Besides, I seem to recall a certain upstart nation doing exactly that about 200 years ago.
Seems I'll be opening the Flag Shop again soon.
