Oh My God, what am I DOING with my life?! I could have been an Astronaut!

07.02.2006 20:46 - It's Busy Down At The Flag Shop.

I'm sorry that I haven't been able to post here recently. As many of you know, I've been setting up a new business venture. It's a Flag Shop. It's been a quiet month, until recently. Then this week business exploded. Every other customer was a Muslim who wants a Danish flag, and it's got to burn well. Now, normally, your average Muslim goes for a US Flag, but for some reason, Danish flags seem to be popular this week, and they're just flying out of the shop. Mr. Ötzuk who keeps the little Kiosk next door is experiencing a boom, too, and can't replenish his supplies of lighter fluid and matches fast enough.

I've had them queueing, I've had bulk orders from the Mosque, the phone's not stopped ringing, you wouldn't believe it. Unlike some of our competitors, who provide cheap flags printed on nylon and plastic, which goes up in a flash, we insist on the 100% cotton quality flag, which takes some time to get burning. We're now offering a pre-impregnated flag for easy ignition. We're even setting up a website where you can order your flag, and have it pre-burned. And they keep on coming. We ran out of Danish flags yesterday morning, but that didn't stop them. Most of them haven't got a clue what the Danish flag looks like, so we've been selling some of our harder-to-shift stock such as Switzerland, Cameroon and Swaziland as Danish flags. Some of them have even torched their own flags by mistake. I'm happy to say that the US flag is still quite popular though, as many of them will fall back onto an old tried-and-trusted design when they can't get the flag they want.

So, there you are then. Business is booming. I just hope it doesn't all go up in smoke.
