"Blue Night" was Johnny Hollywood's idea - a performance where comedians can do their most extreme routines without fear of being censured - the audience would be warned that anything goes, and those of a sensitive or easily-offended disposition shouldn't bother.
The first night was last Friday, and took place in a cellar in the Zülpicherstr Area, which is the student area of the city. It's a bit rough-and-ready, but it was OK as a venue, the only problem being no dressing rooms (not even real toilets) and a large brick pillar hiding the stage. Casey, Johnny, Olga Putin and I were on the opening bill. It was going to be a bigger bill, but some others dropped out for various reasons.
My set went really well. I don't know if it was the audience, the night or just the fact that it's easy to get laughs with such material, but I had the audience in fits of laughter. Hardly surprising when you find that my material was based on orgasms and masturbation. Some of the other material about stalkers (from these very pages) didn't go down too well, and so, rather than watch it die, I dumped it and told a street joke about the two Liverpudlians who visit ground zero.
All in all, a good night.
