19.02.2008 08:45 - Mausie
Is it me, or is my girlfriend strange? Regular readers may remember the story of our part-time cat. Her pet name for the cat was "Mausie" - translated out of german, it means "Mousie". No kidding, she calls the cat "Mousie". Perhaps it's a reference to its breath. Upon being questioned upon this, she exclaimed that "Mousie" is a common term of endearment in Germany, and it doesn't have the same connoitations as calling someone a "Mouse" like in the UK. In fact, our next-door neighbour refers to his wife as "Mausie", which comes as no surprise, because she's covered from head to toe in brown hair and smells of cheese.
