06.04.2010 20:45 - Pride and Predators
Last night, the film version of "Pride and Prejudice" with Kiera Knightley was on. Her Maj was watching it, although she already owns the generally superior BBC TV version on DVD. For those in the know, the film just doesn't match up to the TV series. In particular, Mr. D'Arcy comes across as a bit wet.
Anyway, during it, the TV station put in one of those intrusive ads for another film - in this case "Jurassic Park". Instead of the normal irritating banner unfolding across the bottom of the screen, we were subjected to a Tyrannosaurus poking it's head round the right-hand side of the screen, at the moment that Elizabeth Barrett chose to run across a bridge in long-shot, making it look as though she was being pursued by a dinosaur.
Unfortunately the dinosaur didn't bite off the soppy cow's head, (even though she sorely deserved it) which meant we had another hour of her mooning over Mr. bloody D'Arcy.
Although I'm beginning to see a niche market...
